Construction

WOJRC is designated as a First Source, by the City and Port of Oakland, to assist Oakland Army Based (OAB) and Port employers fulfill their 50% local and 25% economically-disadvantaged hire goals.  


Over the years, we have expanded our construction services and have cultivated relationships with various union and business representatives to support the booming construction industry in the Bay Area.

 

We offer the following construction assistance services:

  • Help navigate the application and enrollment process of union trades;
  • Job referral and placement assistance; 

  • One-time financial assistance with union initiation fees and the purchase of tools; 

  • Remedial math tutoring for union trade entrance exams;

  • Financial coaching services to better manage earnings and meet financial goals.
