Barbara Bell, came to our office in May, 2020 concerned about being harassed about starting to pay on her student loan debt, which amounted to over $103,000.00.
She wanted to create a payment plan even though her income was very limited. As we discussed her income I realized that she was receiving SSDI and I inquired if she was designated as permanently disabled.
Therefore, I filled out the discharge applications and instructed her to take them to her doctor and then we submitted the applications. She received notice December 7, 2020 that the U. S. Department of Education approved her Total and Permanent Disability application effectively wiping out the entire balance that was due. Needless to say she is extremely happy.
